João Soares House-museum Cultural Centre, Leiria

Discover the history of politics in Portugal during the 20th century by visiting the João Soares House-Museum Cultural Centre .

The João Soares House-museum Cultural Centre is located in a house donated by Mário Soares’ sons to the foundation, in the village of Cortes, in Leiria, Portugal.

This museum has a permanent exhibition about the 20th century in Portugal, specially focused on its political history. There are also spaces for temporarily expositions, most of them dedicated to Mário Soares and his public life as a Prime Minister and as a President of the Republic.

Opening times:

Tuesday through Friday from 10h00 to 12h30 and from 14h00 to 18h00.

Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 14h00 to 18h00.

Closed on Mondays, the 1st of January, 1st of May, 25th of December, easter Sunday and election days.
