The main attractive thing in Porto Santo is its fabulous fine sand beach, which spreads out 9 kilometres, from Vila Baleira to Ponta da Calheta.
The beach zone turns out to be the ideal place to swim. Furthermore, it is a good place to have lunch or a drink at in the evening.
It is a wide known beach in the archipelago, because in Madeira Island there are no other beaches with this characteristics. Here, the water is warm and crystalline due to the flow from the gulf.
Due to the sheer size of the beach, it will not be as crowded as in other beaches.
Here, health and well-being go hand in hand. In addition to the quality of the water, the sand has therapeutic properties, which are benign for illnesses such as rheumatism and varicose veins.
