Praia do Pintadinho beach is located immediately south of Ponta do Altar, a narrow and long promontory where a lighthouse is built, in Lagoa, Algarve.

The sandy area is framed by lushy vegetation and warm-coloured cliffs where sea fossils can be seen.

The cliff on the northern side is worth noting, since it features a gallery conforming a kind of great dome with two arches.
