© Vítor OliveiraThis palace, also known as Palácio de Pais do Amaral, is considered one of the best noble houses in the region of Beira Alta.
Its building dates back to 1724, thanks to initiatives by Simão Pais do Amaral, who was part of the court of King Alfonso VI. Pais do Amaral was also Major Captain of Mangualde and Governor of the area of Viseu. The palace underwent some transformations during the 18th and 19th centuries.
