Madeiran hotels price’s change depending on its location. The closer the hotel is to the city centre, the more expensive it will be. The inexpensive hotels are the ones in the suburbs of the capital. They are an excellent option, especially because the majority have free transport to the centre of Funchal.
Rural hotels in Madeira have different names. The ones called estalagem or residential, will be little hotels. Many of them are renewed lordly houses or country houses.
