Saint Peter’s Church is located on the heart of Peniche’s historic centre and its currently the council’s biggest temple.
This church dates back to the end of the XVI century and it’s divided within three great naves. The lateral naves have many holy altarpieces dedicated to different saints as Our Lady of Boa Viagem, our Lord of Bonfim, Saint Peter of Alcantara. The central nave is highlighted by its major chapel dedicated to Saint Peter, adorned with golden leaf, beautiful dorsal columns as well as many paintings from the XVIII century which represents life scenes from its patron saint.
