The Capela de São José Chapel is a Baroque building located in the second floor of a building in Monsaraz, which is accessed through a narrow exterior stair. It was erected in 1708 by the Domingos Lourenço Perdigão.

It was formerly used as chapel to the annex old prison. There, prisoners from the region, used to come for mass and religious services.
