Discover the Green House

Green House is an environmentally friendly hostel with a décor based upon handcrafted furniture. The property is a 14-minute drive from the Peniche centre and includes a green garden, free WiFi, a buffet breakfast and a movie theatre.

The hostel features accommodation in 4-bed dorm rooms and suites. The dorms feature a shared bathroom, balcony with garden views and a small lounge area. The large double suites feature a flat-screen cable TV, a lounge area and a private bathroom with a bath. A daily cleaning service is provided.

A rich and varied breakfast buffet is served daily in the Green House’s breakfast room, which includes freshly-baked bread and natural juices. Guests are welcome to utilize the shared kitchen in order to leisurely prepare their meals. Those wishing to try the local cuisine can do so in the Peniche centre or a 5-minute walk away in Baleal, both featuring fish and seafood restaurants.

The hostel features a communal living room and a movie room, where guests can watch full-length movies in comfortable sofas on a large flat-screen TV. A gift shop is also a part of the premises. The garden features a terrace and is ideal for sun lounging. Extra services can be arranged upon request, including yoga classes, massages, surfing lessons and boat tours to the Berlengas Island.

The harbour connecting Peniche with the sunny Berlengas Island is an 11-minute drive away. The island features beaches, hiking trails, boat tours and camping sites. The renowned Supertubos is considered one of the top surfing spots in Portugal, sited at a 15-minute drive from the hostel. The medieval town of Óbidos is a 22-minute drive and features traditional cobbled streets, ancient walls and shops selling the traditional Ginjinha beverage.

An airport shuttle service is available, at a surcharge. The Lisbon International Airport is a 60-minute drive from the Green House.

Please note that the Green House does not have a front desk. Staff is usually available in the house during most of the day and in the evening.
